When a coffee machine fails, compare the complete cost of a confirmed repair with a comparable replacement. Enter your own figures below. The calculator shows what the numbers suggest and what they cannot tell you.
First identify the symptom with our diagnostic wizard and check the manual for your exact model. Get a written repair quote covering parts, labor, tax, diagnostic fees and delivery. Include tax and delivery in the replacement price, and compare machines with similar functions.
Repair vs Replace Calculator
All amounts must use the same currency. The expected years are your estimates, not a prediction by CoffeeFixGuide. Your entries are calculated in your browser.
The cost-per-year figure divides each upfront price by the years you entered. It excludes future repairs, routine care, electricity, resale value and differences in features. Age and fault type are prompts for further checks, not fixed lifespan rules. Do not operate a machine with an electrical hazard, burning smell or water near electrical parts.
Enable JavaScript to use this calculator. You can still find your model and compare written quotes manually.
What to check before deciding
- Diagnosis: a symptom does not identify a failed part. Use guided checks and ask a technician for a confirmed scope if the fault is internal.
- Coverage: check the manufacturer warranty and any consumer-law rights before paying for a repair.
- Quote: ask whether the repair price includes labor, parts, tax, diagnosis and a warranty on the work. If the cause is uncertain, ask for a price range.
- Replacement: compare the delivered price of a machine with equivalent features, not an unrelated cheaper model.
The original purchase price is shown for context only. It has already been paid, so it should not be added to today’s repair cost. The age of the machine helps you ask about parts availability and other wear; it does not establish how long this particular machine will last.
If you decide to repair, check any proposed component against the full model number, region and revision in our parts compatibility register. If a safety concern is present, stop using the machine and consult a qualified technician.
