JURA Error Codes

Choose the warning shown on your machine. Check the model number and compare the full pattern with the manufacturer’s instructions before trying a fix.

Select your brand, then confirm the exact model and full code or light pattern. Indicator lights can change meaning when they flash instead of staying on. This database distinguishes manufacturer-documented meanings from possible causes; it does not diagnose an internal component from a display alone.

Displayed code

ERROR 8

What it means

The E8 reports a fault that needs diagnosis. Public E8 documentation does not establish one failed part from this number alone; E8 model generations differ.

Possible causes
  • An interrupted start or internal positioning problem may be involved.
  • An internal drive or sensor fault is possible, but the display alone cannot confirm it.
What you can check yourself
  • Note the entire message, model generation and any abnormal noise.
  • Make sure the external tray and grounds container are correctly seated.
Diagnostic sequence
  1. Use the power button to switch off and let the machine stop.
  2. Disconnect power briefly only after normal shutdown; inspect only removable external parts.
  3. Restart once and record whether the same message returns.
When to contact service

Arrange JURA service if ERROR 8 returns, movement is blocked, or grinding noises occur. Do not force the internal brew mechanism.

The official product support identifies E8 variants and manuals; component-level causes are possibilities, not a manufacturer-confirmed definition of ERROR 8.

Reviewed September 2026. Verify the manual for the exact model and market. Turn off and unplug when safe if you notice smoke, a burning smell or water near electrical parts. Never force a stuck brew group.
