Quick answer: For a weak K-Supreme cup, repeat the same pod at a smaller brew size and try the STRONG button before pressing Brew. Keurig describes STRONG as its bolder-cup setting. If the volume is unexpectedly low, irregular, or full of grounds, diagnose that symptom instead of changing taste settings.
Separate taste from a machine fault
Does the brewer complete a normal cycle and fill the selected cup size? If yes, the beverage recipe and pod are the first variables. If it gives a partial cup, sprays, or puts grounds in the cup, clean or diagnose the flow path. The K-Supreme’s selected size is water volume, so moving from a smaller to a larger size with the same pod can change perceived concentration; this is a brewing inference, not a measured fault threshold.
One-pod comparison
- Use two fresh pods of the same coffee type and two similar mugs. Confirm both cups are clean and the reservoir has fresh water.
- For the first brew, select your usual size with STRONG off. Note taste and actual cup fill.
- For the second, use a smaller available size and press STRONG before Brew. The Keurig manual says to select brew size, then STRONG for a stronger cup, then Brew.
- If it improves, use the cup size and strength control that suit this pod. If only this pod tastes weak, compare a fresh pod with a different roast. Do not open pods or stack pods to increase grounds.
- If brew flow is visibly abnormal, check the removable pod holder and needles per the needle-cleaning guide. Descale only by the full manufacturer program when indicated; see the K-Supreme descale guide.

Safety and parts
Never lift the handle during brewing; Keurig warns that the pod holder contains very hot water. No part replacement is warranted by weak taste alone. If multiple pod types produce abnormal flow after owner-level cleaning, contact Keurig support rather than opening the brewer.
FAQ
Does STRONG add more coffee grounds?
No additional grounds are added. It changes the brewer’s program; the pod remains the same.
Is a larger cup always a machine problem?
No. Selected cup sizes are recipe choices. Unexpected short output is a separate symptom.
