Quick answer: Lubricate the removable Philips 3200 LatteGo brew group only after cleaning and drying it. Philips identifies three areas: the piston, the shaft at the bottom, and the rails on both sides. Use a thin layer of Philips HD5061 brew-group grease, then refit the group. More grease is not better, and lubrication does not clear a blocked water circuit.
When to do it
Philips’ support guidance ties frequency to use: every four months for 1–5 cups daily, every two months for 6–10, and monthly above 10 cups. The booklet supplied with your exact EP32xx variant takes priority if its schedule differs. Clean the brew group routinely between lubrication sessions.
What you need
- Philips HD5061 grease or the product specified by your manual
- Lukewarm water and a clean place for the group to air dry
- A clean fingertip or suitable applicator for a very thin film
Caution: Switch the machine off with its power control and let it finish parking before removing the group. Do not disassemble its mechanism, grease electrical contacts or apply lubricant to the coffee path beyond the manufacturer-indicated spots.
Three lubrication areas
Clean, lubricate, refit
- Switch off and wait until the machine is quiet. Open the service door and remove the drip tray and grounds container as required for access. Press the group release and slide it out without forcing it.
- Rinse the brew group with lukewarm water and let it air dry. Do not use a dishwasher unless your exact manual explicitly permits it.
- Spread a thin film of approved grease on the piston, the shaft at the bottom and the sliding rails on both sides. Wipe away excess.
- Slide the group back until it locks, then reinstall the tray and grounds container and close the door. If it does not seat, do not force it.
If it still sticks or coffee is weak
For alignment and removal problems, use our brew-group-stuck guide. If a machine brews but coffee is thin, follow the watery-coffee diagnosis. If no water appears at all, see the no-water guide. Stop and seek service if gears grind, the group is damaged, or it repeatedly jams after proper seating.
FAQ
Can I use cooking oil?
No. Use the lubricant specified by Philips for the brew group.
Does lubrication replace cleaning?
No. Residue should be rinsed off and the group dried before grease is applied.
