Unplug the machine before opening panels or touching internal components. Stop if you see damaged wiring, smell burning, or are unsure about a pressurized or electrical part.

Quick answer: If you prepare milk on a JURA E8, clean its milk system daily, in addition to the milk rinse. From the start screen, open the maintenance cockpit, select Clean the milk system, then Start. Put one dosing unit of JURA milk-system cleaner into the dedicated cleaning container, detach the milk pipe from the milk supply, connect it to that container, place the container under the frother and hot-water spout, and select Next. The guided cycle stops automatically.

Rinsing is not the daily cleaning cycle

The E8 prompts for a milk rinse after each milk preparation, or can start it automatically 15 minutes afterward depending on its setting. The manual separately requires daily milk-system cleaning whenever milk was prepared. Regular cleaning is a hygiene and flow task; a coffee-system tablet cycle and descaling are different programs.

Supplies and cautions

  • JURA milk-system cleaner measured as directed by the container
  • The E8 milk-system cleaning container and properly connected milk pipe
  • Fresh water for rinsing detachable parts

Safety: JURA warns that unsuitable cleaners may leave residue and clog the frother. Use the specified cleaner, follow its label, keep it away from children, and avoid skin or eye contact. Do not pull apart the frother while hot or during a program.

Run the cleaning cycle

  1. From the start screen, press the cockpit button and select Clean the milk system → Start.
  2. Remove the milk pipe from its milk container or cooler. Add one dosing unit of JURA milk-system cleaner to the dedicated cleaning container.
  3. Place that container beneath the hot-water spout and fine-foam frother. Fit the milk pipe connector to the cleaning container as the manual shows.
  4. Select Next. Let the machine clean the fine-foam frother and pipe until it stops automatically.
  5. If weak foam or spraying remains, follow the manual’s separate dismantling-and-rinsing instructions for the cooled fine-foam frother. Our E8 milk-frother guide helps separate a dirty frother from other causes.

FAQ

Do I need the cycle if I made only one milk drink?

Yes. The manufacturer says to clean the system daily if milk has been prepared.

Can the automatic milk rinse replace cleaning?

No. The manual describes the rinse and cleaner cycle separately.
